EAT CLUB
is a monthly social gathering of gluttons from around the world. No
membership fee, just the joy
of pigging out. We go to a different restaurant every month, in alphabetical order by cuisine. A for Afghani food.
B for Belgian., C for Chinese...
We're on our FOURTH time around the alphabet. NO DUPLICATIONS! Yowsah!

Don't forget: if you lose the
details on your way, you can always get recorded information from
THE EAT CLUB LINE at
1-212-674-7018 (#2). (Put the number in your cell phone!)
Also, LOOK AROUND IF YOU
DON'T SEE US! Sometimes restaurants have back
rooms that are hard to spot. AND
ASK,
we'll usually tell a server that we're EAT CLUB.
Finally, WAIT
A FEW MINUTES, we may be late... some restaurants don't
take reservations, so they may not know we're
coming!! If you ask for EAT CLUB and we're not there yet, you may get the profound
answer of HUH?
Eat club is in no way affiliated with the
ibec Language
Institute. It is an open organization. Anyone not horrible
can attend.
That means no one currently affiliated with
SONY,
CompUSA or the Morgan Post Office facility is allowed.
Last EAT CLUB News:
![]() That's the way I remember him. He was looking a bit more gray in the tooth when we met at the Drink Club location. His eyes sparkled though, and he was still quick in the brains departmet. Me: Hey Joe Franklin! I used to watch you on TV when I was a little boy. Him: Well, you ain't so old now, are ya. He was the kindest host on TV. (And the first to have the Ramones on!) He never made fun of his guests and always gave THEM a chance to talk. Interestingly enough, the entire restaurant, at least the back part (Desmonds) where we were sitting, was filled with old people. There were enough canes and walkers in the place to fill a nursing home. I felt so young. The waitress was also the Bartendress. She was accommodating and even taught us to say L'CHAIM in Irish. (something like Slaigham). The food was all slightly on the sweet side, including the meat pies. The beer was good and U.G. had his first taste of Irish coffee! I'm not so sure how long he'll wait before his second. |
